3/100

I didn’t have much planned today but I was itching to get out and explore the Westend through the strange, mystical fog that has been surrounding the city the past few days.
I went to a few vintage shops before checking out the new craft store in DeCourcy’s Arcade on Cresswell Lane. It’s called The Maisonette and is run by The Made in the Shade gang – a craft group which often runs vintage and crafts sales in Glasgow.
I commented on some cool cushions they have in the shop: there were a few tartan cushions, embroidered with the faces of famous Scots, such as Sean Connery and Rab. C. Nesbitt. The girl in the shop (who had an enviable white, angora super-cardigan) explained they used to have a giant tapestry featuring Sir Sean’s face. Jealous of whoever bought that one: I’d quite liked to have had his fuzzy features looming over me from my bedroom wall.

I once went to a ‘Scottish pube’ (sic) in Bratislava which had various disgusting meals on the menu, one of which was – I kid you not – ‘Sean Connery’s cheese’.

All that was missing from the place was Unicum on draught…
